Halong Bay is a jewel that oppose the atrocities of a past of war and prevailed by the beauty of the mother nature. Halong Bay means "place where the dragon downs," says the legend that the bay was created by a dragon that lived in the mountains. Regardless of who was its architecture, the bay deserves a ride in a day or have the opportunity to sleep on the boat for a night and enjoy the sunrise and sunset. I did it with a close friend and we had a nice boat just for us during 2 days. Swim in the places where the guides allow and take a kayak and paddle toward the caves. Be surprised by the overwhelming images of limestone towers around, lost in the ocean, just be careful when swimming, because some of these small pools are filled with jellyfish. Try to respect the World Heritage of UNESCO and do not collect rock samples, respect the environment and don throw garbage on the sea. Meals are taken in the same boat and cooks are simply fantastic. Local guides are helpful and offer you all necessary information. Dare to swim, snorkel and take a range of small islands. Remember, this scenario has already been covered in two James Bond movies (The man with the golden gun and Tomorrow Never Dies)

A not to be missed cruise.
One night is usually enough time to see the bay...but if the weather is bad ( and it is misty quite often) you might want to book 2 nights
There are different quality ships, mostly affecting cabins and food...the sights will be the same!

We had a private cruise boat and a private tour guide. Our tour guide pointed out to us the significant limestone cliffs. The limestone cliffs are also densely located, so one could feel the immensity of these. We also went inside a limestone cave which had a walkway outside for tourists and where we had our pictures taken. We also saw a lot of cruise ships/boats and thought that it would be nice staying in Ha Long Bay for a number of days, not just on a day trip.

We had great and fantastic of two days trip at Princess Junk that booked via Brilliant Halong Cruises(brillianthalongcruises.com). The Bai Tu Long Bay was quiet silent and more relaxing than Halong Bay. We are on our way for honeymoon and we like the quiet atmosphere, private moment so, Bai Tu Long Bay is a great choices. The cruise with one cabin, one small restaurant, one sundeck. All on for both of us, the food was great with special decoration and delicious. Would recommend it!
